This is my brother in law, David. He's, uh, playing the blues.

I desaturated all colors but blue and cyan, added some grain (I shot with ISO 400, hoping for some grain, and didn't get enough, IMO), and wished the bright spots weren't there.

Some folks just hate selective desaturation, but I think it is appropriate here. Some folks don't like grain, but I think it's appropriate here, too. With all these people not liking things that I used, it'll be interesting to see how this does...

David was amazingly patient as I took photos of him from above, below, far away, very close. He just played on, ignoring me as his songs carried out past the deck we inhabited and into the cool, damp forest outside of Durango, Colorado. In the end, I liked this shot best of 'live music,' but others best of David himself.

David's website is: //www.davidedwardsmusic.com/

His music is great! Get one of his CDs!

Cool -- maybe I'll pick up a CD. The link to music samples on his site doesn't direct you to an actual page btw. Great shot I really enjoyed this one, Dave(s).

This is a neat look at the musician playing. Nice clarity and kind of a bluesy feeling but maybe the backyard player at a party. Nice.

Interesting angle. Good technically. I personnally hate selective desat. This pic would have scored higher if in color or B&W.7.

I like the unusual pov and the selective desat. Good work

Good title, good angle. All around nice, but it doesn't jump out and grab me as I feel it should .

Nice POV and color. With this guitar neck view your crop selection is very effective in this image. Good luck...

I don't understand why you want to draw my eye to his blue jean clothes... I don't get it...

For some reason the desaturated hand works but not the foot.

Great angle, the incorporation of hand and foot makes this much more interesting than the numerous "hand on guitar" shots

If this was live music, you'd really be getting in the way of the audience. I can't imagine getting this close and in the way of a live gig.
