Nico Blue's second assigment was to post process the same image using a cool color temp and a warm color temperature to change the mood of an image. Here is the original, cool verion and warm version.

Here is what I learned:
1. Color does, indeed influence mood.
2. You can take an image pretty far from what it "really" looked like and it can look better. Reality is over rated.
3. In order to take the same image in both a cool and warm direction the scene should have a full range of colors. A mostly green scene will just end up looking un natural if it is just changed to reddish.

I have always post processed to make an image look like it looked in real life, sometimes even going back to shoot it when the light was cooler. Learned a lot with this exersize. Thankd

I think you are learning exactly what this mentorship is all about. I like the warmer version. Looks more "natural" to me. But their is nothing wrong with the cool version for me either.

Good points - I like your "here is what I learned" comments. I actually think I prefer the warm version because it places a bit more emphasis on the flag. If you don't like the effect in the greens, try applying a mask to the layer.

It's funny, but I actually prefer the cool version. The warm version changes the colors of the flag a bit too much for me. You made a good point about a photo having a full range of colors when you try to change the mood. I think that was part of the problem with the photo I worked on.
See...I'm already learning from you!

Kind of a toughie because the original is already quite cool- I do like the warm version tho but the cool doesn't do anything for me. soemtimes it's amazing to think I'm looking at the same photo...
