I do make allowance for his photo :) otherwise i would've given a 1 like most studio flower shots.... people like high impact images on DPC, you can't change that.

Odd that you make allowances for the shortcomings in your own pictures (your yesterday's PM) but are unwilling to do so for those of others.

My appraisal of dpc comments in general (and i stress the 'in general') is that they say a great deal more about the personality of the commenter than about the picture that they are allegedly giving feedback on.

Thanks guys for your wonderful comments :)

To answer some questions: it's really difficult to photograph a forest or trees when the light is harsh, it creates too much contrast that you can expose for one or another. Thus it's best to photograph when it's cloudy or during sunset/sunrise. As far as the wow factor -- i know this photograph wouldn't do well because it's GREEN, and I have others that i have shot for America24-7 that would've done a lot better (orange sunset with sillhouettes) but i am submitting those so i am not going to post it on here for now.

I didn't get to vote nor comment much for this challenge. I just looked at your picture and it is very nice. Beautifully exposed and the subject of a wooded path appeals to me greatly. Nice job!

I very much like the feel of the photograph. I want to step into the photo and walk along the path and go exploring, see where it takes me. Great job and great color.

Nice nature shot..... but lacks impact..... perhaps if it was shot with a little more moody light...... like at dusk or dawn..... good luck

Hm...crabappl3? :) Good shot, regardless. Reminds me of something I've seen before though. Great colors in the green. Looks almost supernatural. 9

I hope you understand when i say that this seems to be more about the path than the greens - or perhaps the tree trunk. It's a lovely photo, especially the texture of that three trunk - but the interest for me is all in the non-green stuff. Had it been me, I'd perhaps have under-exposed a stop or so, just to saturate the colours more - but then the muted contrasts here are such a strong part of the image.

Find this image very pleasant to contemplate. Even though the greens are fairly intense, this picture reads 'peaceful'. Nice warm tones in the red/greens, particularly first tree to the right. The path leads my eye right to the intense green shrubs beyond the bend. 9

you've got a lot of green here! i find the big rocks on the left very distracting to the eye. i like how the trees on the right lean over the path.

I like the contrast between the path and the trees. The green is very vivid. The exposure and composition look good. IMO though it doesn't have much in the way of impact.

Nice photo. I love nature shot's along paths and hope this does well. The brown of the mud, rocks, and trees compliment the forest green nicely. 8
