Challenge: Tools of the Trade (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Canon EOS-20D
Location: In the bedroom
Date: Jul 21, 2005
Aperture: 6,3
ISO: 400
Shutter: 1/60

Since I'm about to be a father in a matter of days, this was the first thing that struck my mind when I read the challenge details.

I placed a 580ex on the top of a shelf and a white cardboard on a chair used as a reflector. Used the ST-E2 transmitter to trigger the strobe. Shot with Canon 50mm f/1.4

Cropped, desaturated and sharpened in Photoshop.

This is outstanding. Sorry it didn't place higher. I think it should have been in the top 20!!!

Fantastic lighting. Excellent use of shadow. Good contrast. Great black and white.

I really hope you don't mean those to be "tools of the trade" ...hmmmm...j/k.

A fertility goddess come to life! Wonderful shot!

i really just dont see how this fits. its not a bad image, it just doesn't fit, and i think the title is stretching the concept trying to make it fit.

Man, I bet she has the kid before the contest is over (speaking as a pediatrician). I like the lighting. Good composition too. A slight stretch of the theme, but not too bad.

Great photo, but a challenging title. What are the anatomic tools? the hands? the breasts? the belly? all of them together?

And tools for what? If they're for looking after the baby those three sets of tools have one purpose, if they're for her lover it's a whole different purpose...

Maybe I'm making too big a deal of this (& maybe I'm just being thick!), but I seem to be hung up on the tools thing...

(Great photo though - did I mention that before? - texture, detail, lighting. Superb job!)

Top class work

I love the dark shadowy image. It's almost womblike (very clever). The composition and position of the figure is really well done. The light over her chest, hands and belly makes this a true work of art.

Pure and simple, lovely

tone and border are superb. subject matter is confusing and can be interpreted in a questionable manner. what exactly is her trade/job? outside of challenge, nice picture.
