Hmmm...I may have to stop experimenting. ;^) I took this shot using the camera timer and placing the camera on the ground facing up the tree to get the perspective. The mosquitos were killing me while I waited!
This treefort is still a work in progress and belongs to our oldest.
As for the shadows - I lightened up the underside of the fort a bit for those with monitors that are a bit dark. Some details I thought would be ok, too much would be distracting as the underside of the fort is quite unattractive.
I was hoping that the viewers eye would be naturally guided up the tree, and not so much emphasis on the actual treefort itself. Oh well, on to the next challenge. ;^) Thanks everyone for the comments. |

One of my top scores, a sure indication of it failing at mass appeal! I thought the flare added a lot to the picture and helped me think back to the summer days of scorching heat and going to my favorite hideout to play with my friends. I have a good monitor that shows the whole grey scale so this looks a bit washed out. |

An interesting subject and the perspective is pretty cool. IMO, the lighting in this case is weakening the presentation a little. There seems to be a loss of a lot of strong detail in the darkness at right. And the flare of the sun on the right edge seems to be distracting. Perhaps the same shot taken at a different time of day, with the light coming in from a different angle could make a difference? |

Not much is woodier than a treefort. I love the composition, good job. |

Good shot. I like the flair in the upper right, and the play of light and shadow. Well done. |

Some may not like the "glare" but I do. One thing I'd like though is some fill light in the shadows. |

the subject is sorta hidden within the shadow of itself if that makes sense at all. |
