Wow, great use of lighting. It's a very attractive subject. The bokeh is very nice. Crisp focus everywhere except for a few strands in the upper left. Given DPC's usual tendency to slam lack of sharpness, I'd have been tempted to crop the photo so it is vertical, but I suppose this might do too much violence to that glorious luminescent crown.

Nicely framed, it looks like part of the feathers got blown out. Otherwise a very nice shot. - 7

Nice work on this one. You did a great job isolating just the crane and eliminating the background. Good work.

Lovely bird it looks like it has make-up on and it has a really nice coy expression.
i like the way the feathers on the crown are back lit and contrast with the indistinct dark background.

Would have been stronger if you didn't cut of the crown.

This might have more impact if shot from a different angle, using more negative space around the head and feathers. I like the coloring. Maybe off center the subject as well.

Since I am lacking in technical skills, I cannot give helpful comments. I am strictly a photo buff who is trying to improve, but as to telling you what is wrong or right, I am in no position to say. I am simply voting based on whether I like the picture or not. Sorry, maybe someday I will be able to give helpful advice

Fantastic. Well lit (not that you had control of that) . A1 exposure. Not out of place in Nat Geo. Only one thing is anoying.... it's a shame the top is cut off.
