 I have a feeling this image won't do well, but I love it so I'm entering it. I had an advanced rules completed and was about to submit when I noticed the rules for this challenge. Oh well! I know there are many problems - distracting background, feet cut off, dad bird cut off, anthropomophizing birds to begin with but I still like it. Did you know they mate for life?

I wonder if people will notice the subtleties of this image. The young one is the defiant one even within the realm of this image. He is the only one without the curve in his neck, facing to the left, wings apart from his body...

Anyway, comments and crits welcome!

Whoops - editing: Mostly in RAW where I used shadow and highlight contrast, a touch of hue and a little fill light. In PS, cropped, save for web

I think this picture deserved much more. It really is asserting independence and the composition is ballanced. I'd say well done and you deserved a better place.

What a hoot adolescents are. I wish the bird in the center hadn't been there. Would have really made this more effective.
