Very cool shot... I would like to share my hits also if you don't mind. Unfortunately Panasonic LZ2 is a slower machine, so couldn't catch the impact moment ;) Maybe with my new Pentax *istDL one day :)

I agree. . .I have tried so manytimes to get this kind of shot. This is amazing. 6.1 isn't a bad score, but I would think it would score a lot higher too.

I guess people do not appreciate the difficulty involved in this shot. I had you much, much higher (gave you one of only a couple 9's in this challenge). You were robbed!

I love this capture, I have shot thousands of little-league at bats and have only captured one like this with the ball compressed by the bat, and the pros do it a lot faster. Sorry it did not do better, I gave it a 10.

Very cool shot! Color is a little flat though - more vibrant green grass and red clay might make that ball pop out.

WOuld maybe been average in Originality but guessing the some 100 photos you took to get the ball just contacting the bat , amazing . Still one of my top picks in the challenge and 2nd favorite baseball photo.

Very effective. Seems like an angle more to the front would help. This was a good capture.

great timing, nice capture. i think, though, you could really benefit from putting 2-3 thousand dollars into equipment upgrades. you are really asking a bit too much from that slow lens (f/4?) you need f/2.8 if you want to get action like this razor sharp. i just happen to know of a mint condition canon 300mm f/2.8L that normally retails for $3700 for about $2700--let me know if you're interested...

oh, i REALLY like this and hope it does well. as for the challenge, you absolutely nailed it. i probably would have scored this an 8, but i'm giving this a 10 just to help offset the rough voting that i've seen in this challenge. good luck, hope to see this on the front page! (and yes, baseball is the best sport!)

Classic composition. You really captured it at the most opportune moment. Good pic. I'm impressed with the sharpness. Can't wait to find out what your settings were.

Cool timing! Like the composition. Colors feel a bit washed out for my taste, but groovy photo.

I like the angle of the field, and the timing of your shot. The green border plays well here.
