Nice work. I also like the color and think that B/W would look good too. I know it's hard to get good DOF across the entire web, but the right side is a little blurry (just a bit of a distraction). I like the background a lot too (nicely fades away to nothingness). Good job.

I would also think this would be good as black and white, but that's just me. Great capture. Someday I'll take a good one like that. :)

It looks like very small beads have been strung to form the web. I believe the colour has provided just enough contrast to enhance the detail.
