For the challenge, I say it fits perfectly...
A good thought process went into this im my opinion..:)
It defanetly says family either way you look at it..
Wether its communication by mail or by the boxes being ralating..
The perpespective is really nice as well...
Keeping in the same perspective maybe this would of have done a little better if the boxes were more the focal point and there was less of the building, sidewalk, and the window..
ALl in all though I like it better then mine its less cluttered and theres more space to draw in the attention.. Good job, I like it.. :)

Great photo but it feels a little loose on the theme.

i think i follow but this is a serious stretch

This is a strange take on the subject. I am left to interpret myself and I can only think the passport photo in the window as a form of traveling to meet family??? Or connecting with family through the mail??? Maybe both? Interesting the more I think about it. 5

Let me guess...they're hoping for a mail child? Sorry, I couldn't resist. It's a cool street shot with interesting angles. It's one of those that doesn't scream "Family", but I don't want to get into that argument because mine is another.

too much use of negative space... a closer up would have had less distractions. nice idea.

This just doesn't speak to me. I have considered it several times before commenting. The lighting is a bit harsh and I see where you are trying to go with the mailboxes, but overall, it's just kind of blah. Maybe a black and white filter would give it more contrast and make it have more of an urban appeal.

It makes sence, but there's nothing particularily special to find in this picture.
If you focussed on shooting the mailboxes themselves, and left out a lot of the stuff around, this could have had a better impact.
A little brightness/contrast could help as well in photoshop

This one went over my head, I think. I'm back, letters, to loving families?

I like the idea behind this and your angle. nice clear picture

Sunlight was not your friend here. Same shot in evening or early morning would have been much less flat and lacking the hard shadows.

unique angle. colors are nice and crisp, though focus itself is a bit soft

for me, this is reaching a bit too far away from any traditional meaning of family. i really did try to understand the reasoning behind it from many perspectives. sorry.

this is out of the box, even too much for me. I like the tilt and the colors, but come on...family?

it's a serious stretch on the challenge topic IMO.
