It's way to overexposed.

Too much area blown out. Also, maybe a different angle.

the idea is good.....but the overexposure has took over the subject....bear that in mind for next time...well done for the idea...

For this contest everyone who has the word “circle” in their title is getting a lower score. This is a copy and paste version that I am including in every photo that I downgrade due to the title. We as members of DPchallenge know the topic of the challenge – we do not need to reread the topic every time we reach a photo. If circle is in the title and it is appropriate I will most likely not down grade, but it better be good. I am sorry if you do not agree with my method of protest – but scores are all I have.

maybe would have been better to focus on a part of the bike? In the previous sports challenge there were some cool pics of bikes focussing in on smaller circles.

really harsh light

The sun really blows out this picture on the top, It makes it hard to see the details of the bike

lighting on top too harsh, soft focus, boring composition.

suspicions on your frame being legal within the editing rules but will ignore for vote.

Image suffers from over exposure in top half: you must get the lighting right, it is critical to a good image. If the bike was in the light or the shade, it would have been much better. Half and half means that you will either have one half under or over exposed (here, over exposed). Colours are washed out generally (increase satuaration), and the image is not sharp (use Unsharp Mask as the last editing step when preparing for submission). The composition is poor - the bike is photographed side on against a dull background: change angle, bend down, get some intersting angles and see if you can find a better way of capturing this image. Take a photo that meets the challenge, not meet a challenge and hope that the photo will do.

too bright, a litle more contrast should do it some good
07/07/2005 09:42:55 AM
not at all artistic

Sunlight was way too bright. Would have been a better shot if you had taken it at a different time. There are definitely circles though!

entire image is way too bright, highlights are completely blown out

what a name for a horrible snapshot :))

a bit overexposed. You could try different angles and perspectives for a more artistic shot.

this seems a bit overexposed to me. good luck though

I would try re-taking this shot, but in a location that did not have the harsh contrast between the sunlight and the shadows, as well as a more flat backdrop, as opposed to the pile of bricks.

The sunlight creates a very stark and high contrast image that could be greatly improved upon with even lighting for the entire subject.
