Nice shot

To much on the sharp filter lets this shot down!

This is very pixellated but kinda cool because of it. Assuming that the artifacts aren't something you wanted, trying shooting at a larger image size and a higher quality -- then adjust these things to fit the rules in an image editing program. As for this picture itself, you might want to try to move other flowers out of the way so that only the one you really want the picture of is in the frame. This doesn't apply so much to the bloom in the lower right as it does the few petals I'm seeing in the upper right.

I really like the contrast in this picture. The compression artifacts are a little distracting. You might want to try a little less compression if you can.

you captured the detail of the black outline in the petals is very nice

interesting look. Slight nit: edges of flowers appear slightly pixelated, maybe over blown-up? Background is almost dark enough to ingore, a little "cleaner" background would have made the flowers stand out more. Photo 9 Creativity 7 B&W 8 total 8

Shame about the stepping on the flower edges. Maybe more time spent clicking in Gimp/Photoshop/Whatever could have solved it.

i've always been partial to the sour cream side of things. heh.

well done but a little over sharpened.

Another image with too much compression! The 4th one I've found. I'm sure others have said this, but compressing down to 87kb when you can use 150kb hurts your image quality. Other than that, a nice photo.

This picture is too sharp/pixelated. It looks to me like a digital zoom, or trying to stretch a low res picture to be bigger. If possible, try to take teh picture at your camera's highest resolution, then you will have some room to crop, etc. It's composed well, and I like how the flowers are focused, but the background is not.

Great image with good placement of the subject(s) - looks like it might have been over shaprened?

Perfect use of b&w. Love the dof.

Looks like the pedals have too much sharpness.

Good contrast and composition, but it looks a little blurry when enlarged.

oversharpened? Interesting composition though.

It looks like you've tried to create detail that didn't exist in the original by sharpening. Makes for a very pixelated, ersatz look. Good tones, and a pretty good composition (I'd have inched over to the right just a little).

Nice macro shot. Are the thin dark lines part of the flower or a sharpening effect?

Too many flower pics here.
06/03/2002 04:58:00 PM
Oooh. If this was only sharper.
06/03/2002 03:40:00 PM
Over sharpened or just hand held? Little bit of a blur here, but it made an interesting b&w.

Cool shot, but why take a picture of a flower for a B&W challenge?
06/03/2002 01:58:00 PM
interesting looking

This is a neat view and a nice macro as well but something is wrong with this image and I'm not sure what it is... is it sharpened? if so, i think the sharpening is a little heavy...

Seems a little over-sharpened and/or over-despeckled. A closer shot would've been great.

wow would this have been great if the focus was better. Did the pixles mess it up because of the resizing?

Just a bit too sharp from my view. I thought it might be the browser so i opened it in other viewers to try and get a better look, but the edges just seem a tad harsh for my liking. Love the composition though, with one high and one low.
