Taken at at a private nursery called Glebe Gardens. I was in awe of everything there - literally fields of lilies and hostas (over 2,000 different varieties that were labeled) and scores of ornamental grasses, evergreens, paths, and beautiful man-made streams full of goldfish & koi.
This is just an attempt at capturing one small portion of the environment he has created - a truly remarkable site, complete with nesting Coopers Hawks.
Processing included, crop, selective color saturation & contrast; layering of colors, gaussian blur, highlights, background lighting, etc.; resizing & saving to Web.
Hopefully, the viewers will consider the stream enough of a leading line... Time will tell, but I'm happy with this shot, regardless of its eventual score.

I think the subject fits the challenge very well. But maybe a different angle showing more of the bend in the water would have helped.
Nice foliage and very lush looking. Nice darkwater and definatly adds to the photo. The only thing that plays tricks on my eyes, are the rocks. Some how I see the rocks and "spongy". It is almost as if their was a radial blur on each rock even though I know their is not. Probrably just my eyesight fading =).
Still a very nice attempt and alot less then it should have scored. And as always just being their is worth more than a score. |

| Very nice, I love how the green "pops" out at you from all the browns and grays of the rocks...very nicely done. |
