| Very special.... I kind of don't understand what I'm looking at, but I like it! The model's expression is intense. He's got an interesting Timothy McVeigh (but before he was evil) thing going on. |

O.K. composition, good contrast, but here's the nits: The subject appears to be the boat (see title), but the boat is not easily viewable and is cut off, then there's the challenge issue (people). The man does appear to be the real focus of this photo, so back to the title (why)?

| Cool shot, I don't usually like photographs that "look down" on people, but somehow that actually works well here. B&w is a good choice, the face is crisp and stands out well. One thing I would consider is cropping the left and bottom a little more, there's too much empty foreground IMO. |

| This pic seems to have a story to tell. Maybe cropping it so that there is more room at the top, and less at the bottom would give it somewhere to "go." |

| Lovely tones and detail but I think onbe of the few cases of too much eye contact. Having him more absorbed in the boat would have made a more interesting picture. |
