Hi Brian!
Composition
Excellent - but what if you went wider and got more of the flower? I like your use of thirds here.
Color
I think the detail in the colors of the caterpillar here are amazing - I don't like the blur on the flower. I wish I could see those colors be richer.
Focus
Good shallow DoF, but you got the edge of the flower - I like it behind, but not in front. Nice highlighting the fauna though.
Lighting
He wasn't gonna wait for sunset, probably. :) I like this shot at this time. The lighting brings out his own colors, which are the highlight of this shot.
Overall
A 7 score is a fabulous vindication of when you've done something right - and you have. Congrats and happy shooting!

| Very nice shot! Very little glare, focus is extra sharp down to the tail spike, color is wonderful and very eye catchy. The flower at the edge of the frame is a touch distracting, but I'm not quibbling with it. 10 Rob the Swash |

| I think the only negative thing I can say about this picture is that it's a little busy. Having said that the colours are great, and the subject is wonderfully sharp. |
