I always like checking all the theatre adds when on my way down/up London escalators...not that
I'm a theatre buff, just gave me something to do I guess...

Seen this shot done to death a million times, but there's something fresh about this high contrast crack at it.

Nice one Ed - I've often considered doing a shot like this and hve never quite found the right time or incentive. Love the contrasts and infinite focus. Obviously, a real would've-been contender for Leading Lines.

Congratulations on your top 10 finish with this steely representation as fpund in many urban areas.

loving it..wow. this is what street photography is all about, and it fits quite nicely into the metal theme with all the harsh contrast

Great perspective and I like the choice of colouring to suit the metal theme...

I like this shot. When I first saw it, I thought it was a "moving sidewalk", then I realized it was an escalator. The POV adds the extra interest and the metals do not have "blown out" glare.

The only distracting part is the brightness at the 'end' of the escalators and the lighting - but I found that only minor.

Very avant garde approach to this shot. I like how it brings me into the frame immediately, then lets my eye wander the expanse. Excellent!

Love the perspective. Good choice to use black and white. Perfect situation where metal is everywhere. I may have preferred this photo without people as it would draw more attention to the composition and form.

Oh man is this a fantastic shot. This might be one of the most beautiful shots I have seen on this site. This will make a great black and white print. Oh, one other thing, I want a print of this.

OMG! You wouldn't believe how much i love this image. I'm not entirely sure why, but it just smacked me in the mouth as WOW! I am shocked that i am so in awe of (let's face it) such a mediocre every day scene. You have really pulled something wonderful out of such a usually mundane setting! Angle and perspective play a lot into it - the punk guy adds that extra wham. I dunno. I am rambling. I hope this wins!

Great use of leading lines and the tilt of the horizontals (of the steps) adds an extra element as it makes it feel offbalance. Nice range of metal textures too shown up well in the unusual light.

Angle a little skewed for my taste but loving the subject.

Lovely use of black and white- makes everything look like metal. good effect of drawing your eye down the escalator.

Great contrast and perspective. Wise choice for B&W. Also a good time of day keeping the human traffic low, although I think the main figure helps break the image up well. Might be better if the girl on the left was removed. One of my top picks.
