Had a great time taking pics in this tunnel. I was trying all kinds of groovy things with painting light in with a flashlight. But in the end, I liked the one shot I got with my son in it (not planned), as I was testing lighting and stuff.

Thanks, Julien, for your presence in this pic.

PP: Slight amount of Levels, Curves for slight increase of contrast, and UM.

Nothing like a tunnel to accentuate both physical and psychological darkness. A great image. Congratulations on your top Ten finish.

i like the negative space, but the colour of the border is a bit off. I think the border does draw the picture together, but it should be lighter perhaps.

Maybe better without the person? Nice shot still.

One of my favourite images from this challenge. You've used negative space brilliantly here to convey the 'darkness feeling'. Within the tunnel the colours are interesting enough to keep the viewer enthralled by the relatively small subject and the blurry character in red in the tunnel is a good finishing touch.

10!

Less negative space would help IMO.

Excellent take on the challenge theme. Nice perspective. Good use of the rule of thirds and having a lot of black on the image conveys the sense of darkness well. The blur motion of the walker is a great idea but just wish we were a little closer to them to see that aspect better. This is very well done the way it is but the tunnel could be a little larger in the frame and still work.

This is a very pleasing picture. On the one hand, you've captured darkness and the oppressiveness that is often associated with it (without going to the extreme like so many of these photos in this challenge), and on the other hand, you have successfully included a sense of hope, light, innocence that makes this photo the winner in my opinion. Well done!

...Do I sense a ribbon on the horizon?

Very good, very very good. I like all that black area, it makes the the darkness stand out much more stronger.

I just love how you accentuate the darkness by providing light, your one of the few in this challenge that really gets it. Creating a dark photo is not about making a dim exposure, its about making it feel dark, but still being able to see something.

Had to come back and comment. I'm just about numb from the number of shots that included negative space to attempt drama. This is the first one I've seen that balanced the nagative space with the rest of the composition. I like it.
