This is actually the ring I gave my fiance, but this is not me. It is my friend. I thought it would be too hard with all the crap I had to do to make sure the ring was where I wanted it and the flash was popping where I wanted it to be in it myself.

As I scroll down on this, it appears that the face in the background might have been done away with and just the hand hold in the ring in the case alone might have been better. Yep...like it better that way for some reason,,,,prolly just me.

A bit over exposed on the white for my taste, good idea though

Hey! I had this idea too. No complaints about meeting the challenge for this one. I think yours will do better though. Composition might be helped by taking a little off the bottom, unless you had a pressing reason to keep all of that leg.

I didn't feel that the image conveys instantly recognizable decision. But upon meditating about the subject, this is the universally ("THE USA") accepted method for proposing. Thus you have given the viewer the option of accepting. Seeing as how I'm a guy... this photo might have worked out better if there was another subject in the photo to accept. The other subject would not have been enough in that case though, they would have to be showing joy ("accepting") or pushing the ring away ("declining") to show that a decision by one party had been made. But since this photo would work for the other gender, I am giving it a 5.
