This is a repeat of the set up I used for the "Windows to the Soul" shot The two vehicles are my VW microbus seen in several challenges and also my 1951 GMC work truck. The other beauty is my daughter (thanks for putting up with my crazy ideas.)

I set up a white screen on my driveway and positioned my model so that she faced both vehicles. THe camera was on a tripod between the truck and the van.

I hope this does well :)

FUN!!! Elton John would love the glasses.

I think the reflections are awesome.

I think this shot would have done much better (ribboned) if saved for a different challenge....

;)

In beauty I'd give it a 6.0 maybe a 7.0 but in the right challenge it would be a 9.

Nice recycling of those mirror glases from a previous challenge. Partial desat works great too. Another great idea.

Very cool. Nice use of desat to bring out the color in the glasses. Definitely a nice change from flowers ... :)

Beauty is a subjective thing, I know. In my scoring and comments I'm trying to score based on NOT whether or not I would think a particular subject beautiful, but on whether the photographer has succeeded in creating a beautiful photo. I look for the elements of color, lines, focus and dof interest, lighting, and a certain element of grace and lovlieness. I'm looking for a unique and creative appeal for the highest scorers. The description says to create a photo that makes the viewer think "that's beautiful", so it will undoubtedly be very subjective. (This is what I'm putting at the start of all of my comments, and I hope it is helpful.)

That being said, I like the creativity shown here. In this instance, I also think the selective desat works. In looking at this photo, my first thought is not "beauty", however. It's clever and the technical aspects are okay, but the idea doesn't really strike a chord with me in regards to beauty. Still a fairly high score based on the photo's merits.

Coley ? I recognise this van from automobiles challenge. Very well done. I wonder how you managed to get the two reflections without interferance. I would wait for the chalenge to end for details ..

Quite the setup! Very creative. Good use of an otherwise overused title also.
I like the selective desat and the subjects and composition. Good job.

I'll take the Chevy! I love this image! I find the title somewhat "cliche" but it really does work for this image! Even the "flatness" of the B & W image is completely approriate in this case. This is a real standout in the challenge...absolutely one of my favorites! 10

At last something original... I like this shot a lot but still not jaw droppingly awesome. I personally think that the selective desat doesn´t help this image, the same goes for the dull grey backround but all things considered this is pretty cool and I like it, gave it an 8. With a more vivid but out of focus backround and all in colour I would possibly have given this a 10 so great imagination and work on your behalf.
