I must say that I have to agree with the majority of commenters on this image. It is truly beautiful. The composition, colors, and soft feel of the image are wonderful. It's not very often that you find a photo wherein the entire real estate is filled with a particular image and it works - but this one does.

You've managed to maintain the crispness of the image while it's a close-up, and the colors are not "overdone". I'm not a big fan (usually) of macro flower shots, but this one is certainly exceptional.

You know, as odd as it may sound, it makes me feel like I can almost smell the sweetness of the rose itself. I think your use of lighting and composition are impeccable.

Sorry I don't have more to constructively criticize, but IMHO this one is one for the Portfolio FOR SURE! Extremely nice job!

Just my 2 cents...

Jimmy

Jimmy, thanks for the wonderful critique - much appreciated.

I came across this wonderful photo taken by Jinit, mine doesn't compare, but it reminds me of what I shot.

Filling the frame really worked for this shot, absolutely beautiful. Bumping up after seeing the rest.

Sweetly done. Compositionally, the eye of the vortex seems too centered to me. The entire area to the right lacks any real textural OR composional interst. I have tried cropping it into a square and this seems to work better, though it's not ideal. Composion aside, the lighting and the color are exceptionally nice.

Very nice shot. A perfect flower at the peak of its beauty, DOF is just right for it, as is the lighting.

This is quite beautiful, this image would make a lovely print as well. Nicely done and good luck.

Great color! For composition, I would prefer the center of the rose positioned more in the center of the frame - it seems crowded right above it. Other than that, a very nice shot that maybe isn't so original, but very pretty.

Reminds me of my own shot in "bokeh". Anyway, love it, one of the few flower shots in the challenge that "do" something for me. Especially love the sharpness and shallow DOF in it. 8 from me.
