Greetings from the Critique Club :)

Hi JDW...

This photo is difficult for me to critique/comment because I'm one of the ones who did not think it was a strong tie to the 'weather' challenge. I do understand that horses are outdoor animals and they live out in the weather... this was the only tie i could come up with for this image.

Compositionally, I struggled with the photo. The framing of this shot just left my eyes wandering. I believe that for this shot to be interesting, you needed to either include the horse's ears or his mouth, or both. There doesn't seem to be any continuity or natural flow from one point to the next in this photo...

Keep up the good efforts :)

BTW- I noticed that you are in Montana... have you ever had Moose Drool Stout from Big Sky Brewing Company? :)

cheers...

I'd like to thank the people that feel horses are a part of the environment. I guess I didn't read the challenge the same way everyone else did. I should have just taken a picture of a sunset.

I do agree that it could have been cropped differently. I didn't take this specifically for the challenge, but did take it that week and thought it fit. I didn't crop it at all, just resized it.

?? Details: Try photographing weather or the EFFECTS weather can have on the ENVIRONMENT. Good luck.

Helpful comment?

A little out of focus. Not a very colourfull subject, no offence to the horse. Maybe if we saw more of him, like the ears, instread of hair and an eye. Not really weather related, dispite the title.

Not helpful?

This has something to do with weather?

Cropped too much? Would look better if your horse had a nose...

I have one that's been 25 years in weather. Nice job.

Would have scored this higher in the upcoming fauna challenge. Good photo...beautiful horse. It's well focused and nicely framed. Could be just a tad lighter. Just doesn't meet the challenge. Too much of a stretch.

A bit of a stretch to meet the challenge. Would be better technically if the picture were a bit sharper.

Maybe should have taken a step or two back to get the whole head in.

Weather? Apart from the title what has this got to do with the weather?
04/14/2003 11:11:19 AM
Oh yes, old and weather beaten, poor horse. Interesting crop.

It's an old horse. Not really showing signs of weather so much as signs of ageing in general, and not being shown the clippers often enough.

I also feel his face is a little OOF. Sorry 3.

A trusty old friend, no doubt, something so tender in the expression...

"overly creative".. Irrelevant photo without the title.
