Thanks for all the great and correct comments.

It was sand, not sugar. :)

I like the colors in this. Perhaps had you focused on the part of the fork closest to the camera the DOF would have worked a bit better for this shot?

Im a very new photographer (more aptly a camera owner) but I would say this photo is quite flawless. How about an 8 just because Ive seen some really original ideas in this challenge?

Great colors and wonderful detail on the sugar crystals. (Or salt, sand or whatever that is!)

Great colors and idea. Suffers from extremely shallow DOF.

Wider DOF would have helped this one IMHO

Don't know about taste but this looks so pretty! Pity about the orange blur top right...

took me a moment to realize that the monstrous shards of metal were the teeth of a fork.

Love the colors, the only thing I think that could have been better is the focus of the fork. The first tine is very blurry and a little distraction. It is otherwise a great photo!

I like it but I think a spoon would've made the catching of sugar up for consumption much easier! :D

Cool colors and nice bright lighting. I like the small likes of grit that travel up the prongs :)
