Could use some framign work, I don't see a need to cut off the legs/feet and include so much of the sky. Seems kind of snap shotty.

Nice shot, I just wish there had been a nice blue sky to give a little more contast, not your fault I know.

SCA is *no* game (just ask the people who play). Great subject. Busy bg detracts a little, and I'd like to see thier feet. Touch of fill flash or a gamma adjustment for the noble fella at R.

It looks like you had a great opportunity for some great shots. I think this would have been much more impressive if you could have worked around to get a less busy background.

this just feels like a snapshot to me. there isnt much detail

creative and crisp

Society for Creative Anacronizm (are they still alive?) Almost great! (you appear in the shot too, look at the knee guard)

This is an interesting 'game' but I believe the background is creating a little distraction for me... I'm not sure what camera you are using but a more shallow depth of field would possibly blur this out some and allow more attention for the main subjects of this shot... good work!

Looks like it woud be more fun than my 9-5.

Cool picture! I like the way you cropped it in close to minimize the distraction of the background. Was this the SCA fight for regional championship?

those were the days

This is a nice concept. I think I would have tried a lower angle to obscure some of the busy background. Its rather distracting from your subject.

Is this an SCA event or a different group?
BTW: Do you know why they're not using shields in this combat?
05/21/2002 07:17:00 PM
Good framing but a little dark... Perhaps you could have moved so that the sun was more behind you.

Don't know if I would have cropped the bum of the first knight and elbow of the second. Understand that the swords were moving, but it would have been nices if they were sharp. Less DOF would have helped in trying to reduce the distracting background.

Looks like an exhibition, not a game.
05/20/2002 04:04:00 PM
SCA?
05/20/2002 03:42:00 PM
This would have been a winner if there was not so much grey sky in the background. What a great concept! Excellent focus...

Wow, great to be there during this. Fun action shot.
