 Taken in a converted monastery in Singapore, near to the famous Raffles Hotel.

I've kept the image soft, rather than sharpening it, due to the 'sparkly' tiles embedded into the floor, which 'glowed' when sharpened.

I was starting to comment on this as I was bumping final scores and didn't get to it--I started to feel guilty that I hadn't finished my Beauty entry (and I missed the deadline anyway).

This was one of my top pics for the challenge. I think you captured a wonderful scene, with great light. I think you might have tried a little more contrast, on the black side,, and you might have scored better--I think your tones are probably about right, but online, and here at DPC, people vote higher for "pop"! Likewise, cloning out the mark on the front beam might have gotten rid of a distraction. Keep up the good work, it is, and will be, recognized.

This is my top pick of a challenge that has many amazing photographs. The lighting is such a beautiful part of the composition in your entry. The photo has such a soft feel, creating a very classic and romantic atmosphere. The repetition of thepillars and the rounded shafts of light, the shadows contrasted with the light, the way your eye follows the line down - all these things make for a very strong photo. Great job 10!

The colums set off the arches very well. Hard edge against soft semi circles of light. Very nice.
