Magnolia Blossom just opening
The title translates Angel of Available Light.
Every day I take my camera to work. When I get my morning, lunch and afternoon break, I walk outside and look for opportunites. Two flowering magnolia trees in the back of our building provide ample opportunity to "practice". This blossom was facing north on the east side of the tree. In the morning light, it was backlit and the tones inside the blossom were very appealing. Shooting these two trees has been a rich experience for me and regardless of placing, I think I will always remember this the awe I felt when I saw this blossom and the relief I felt when later that night it was in focus.
I cropped this a bit, cloned out a few distracting spots and prior to converting to jpeg worked the curves slightly in DPP.

Thanks to all for commenting. The honest critique and appreciation from those who share is richly rewarding and benificial for continuing progress. I am very excited to have placed this well in a group whose talent I so admire.
Great flower! WHat is it? Love the detail of the center, composition and the lighting. Very good control of all that white...could have been overpowering.
This is a very sensual photograph, with the details in the central part of the flower being so textured and the petals being so soft. The lines flow in such a beautiful way and the composition, placing the stamen where you did, is perfect. The light is so soft and contrasts in such a nice, gentle way with the shadows. I also love the matching green you chose for the border. Amazing!
this would have been great in the beauty challenge. Thats beautiful is the first think that poped into my head. Although I don't feel like it works as well for the light challenge. Yes it is lit well, but I don't think the lighting makes the picture, your perfect composition does. What kinda flower is this? (8)
Beautiful photo even if I don't understand so much the title (and I'm french !) , anyway title is not important for me when I vote.
I like so much the perfect definition of the flower and the soft tones .
I hope to see more photos of this serie after challenge ends.
Believe that I really do appreciate the high quality ! Good Luck !
