Thought I'd have a bit of fun with this one so with the aid of drinking straws, meccano, my husband and a lot of sticky apple juice, ended up with this. It may not be perfect but well, we had fun.

Thanks for the comments - I agree the flow of juice is too transparent/apple not green enough/whole thing too 'flat'. This was because, to remove the shadow cast by the meccano that was suspending the apple in mid-air, I held a piece of tracing paper across the window alongside the set-up. Whilst this did a great job of removing the shadow, it left the whole shot looking not properly lit. I tried in PS but still couldn't get it right.

graphicfunk: I see you had fun with the shadow in your similar shot (which was better :-)! )

So how was it done.... apple suspended by meccano, drinking straw threaded into apple & another one out, both straw & meccano threaded through hole in sheet of A4 so it hid rest of support and also concealed the husband, who blew apple juice through the straws ...

Like I said, had fun doing this, and probably did better than my straight pic of a sliced apple....

Nice interpretation of the apple juice, seeing more of the glass would have been nicer imo

I like the idea and it's a very nice composition but the juice from the straw is hardly visible, because its the connection between the two object and important in this picture. Black background or something orr more light ...... i guesssss

Nice effect. Even the green striped straw. Only thing negative is it feels flat. Not sure if adjusting colors or contrast up a bit would help, or adjusting the lighting while shooting. I do like the shot though.

I love it, I can't figure out how you did it. The focus is on the detail from the bubble in the juice to the skin of the apple.

What can I say......Fantastic idea. I wish the apple had a bit more green to it but I know it's basic editing. I like this, admire your creative style. Hope this will do well for you, its a winner.

This is a great idea, I like it. It would be nicer if the apple juice flowing out of the straw was darker or more in focus.
