 A dead fur/spruce tree in the woods at Rauðavatn (Red Lake) near Reykjavik, contrasted against the cloudy sky.

The original was resized, cropped a little, contrast increased 25%, brightness reduced 5% and finally converted to monochrome (hardly needed, though).

Although you have met the challenge, I don't find this subject interesting to look at.

I like this, its sort of abstract. Perhaps adding a firey color to the background would make the foreground pop out.

This looks either underexposed or taken too late in the day. Need more contrast between the subject and backround. I can't even tell if this was back lit or not because the lighting is so even.
