I had no intention of post-processing it like this, but the overhanging foreground branches looked like they were reaching for the background trees, which in turn looked like they were recoiling backwards in fear, so I thought I'd try to build on that. The original photograph is actually very bluish, because I had custom white-balance turned on from the evening before. I wanted to use a blood-red hue, but the jpeg version looked horrible, even though it looked fine before saving.

Post-processing involved cropping, sharpening, adjusting saturation and levels, cloning out a couple little tiny spots, and adding a border.

1 of the few photographs i've seen on this site where i can actually feel the objects in the image interacting with each other. As i look, i feel the lower trees wanting to bend further away.

Dark and brooding feeling is accentuated by the dark frame. It's not so often that you see a border that fits the shot as well as this. Nicely done.

maybe need blacker blacks? even the border isnt black - or some white? i'm not sure I like the limted tonal range.
