Wow... I'm surprised this didn't do better. I thought that the room and bed looked great. Very photogenic. I also felt that the silhouetted children made the shot more generic (as in; "this could be you or your children").

Good potential here, but I wish the kids weren't underexposed. Did you use flash on this? That could help. Also might get rid of that blur on the kid on the right.

Now there's a fun game! From this angle it looks like they are hitting the ceiling, I think I would have tried to take it from a different angle.

I've seen THAT game played recently! Of course, I imagine there are regional rules variations...

good idea, poor lighting.
05/22/2002 07:15:00 PM
not focused well

A little additional foreground lighting would have brought the detail of these children out quite a bit more. The back lighting is providing a 'sihlouette' effect on the children and it's hard to really see their facial expressions in this photo :) Good job!

More light in the kids' faces would have made this even better - all the white has fooled the camera into underexposing this.

ROFL! How cute! A great capture, the only thng that might improve it would be a fill flash.
05/22/2002 06:52:00 AM
Seems that because there's so much white, the actual subjects are too dark.

you needed to use the flash here. There isn't a lot of light in the photo, and the kids are lit from behind. Because you needed to stop the kids mid-air, you can't use a longer exposure. The ceiling isn't the prettiest either ... unless you were really trying to get one of the kids to bump his head :)

This would have worked in the stop motion challenge as well as here.

So cute!! The lighting in this photo is a bit dim, but it has a lot of pathos. The looks on their faces are priceless :)

that kid on the right looks like he's going to explode
05/21/2002 02:30:00 PM
That's a wonderful picture but I think its ruined by the backlight. Children have wonderful expressions on their faces so light should be on their front.

Really fun picture, but the best part I can barely see. The setting is important to this shot, but it's the only well lit portion. I REALLY want to be able to see the expression of the child on the right. It looks like it would be killer. Your focus should be on the children and their faces -- they look like they're having fun, but because they're not well lit, your audience realy has to work at seeing it.

This one could've been entered for stopped motion and (almost) from the ground up, too. I love the idea, however, the picture is too dark, you can barely make out the two faces. Try with a fill-flash next time?

I like the action and the casual silhouette portraits.

woo hoo, some real fun! :) cute, more light.
05/20/2002 12:55:00 PM
I like the concept but the lighting doesnt seem right. You need better lighting on the kids.
05/20/2002 12:51:00 PM
Wonderful expressions on those little faces....:) Pretty sure my kids all have played that "game" more than a couple of times. The light from the window behind wasn't your friend IMO, it made it impossible for me to see those faces as much as I would have liked to.

So cute and the room is unusual but photogenic. They seem a little underexposed though?
05/20/2002 11:11:00 AM
Lucky kids. Fun action shot.
05/20/2002 08:17:00 AM
Everyone loves this game!
05/20/2002 07:05:00 AM
You definitely have a lighting problem here -- more light needs to be on the front of your subjects, rather than behind. A flash might've worked.
05/20/2002 02:21:00 AM
This would have fit in with the stop action challenge. I think lighting could have helped a bunch.... My mom would never let me play this game! tee hee
