I do think this picture meets the challenge well and I like what it says to me, that there is still green underneath the snow. However, I find the subject not to be the most interesting one I have seen this week. The brown twig crossing the left side of the frame is distracting for me and there isn’t really enough here to hold my attention for very long. The exposure and depth of field look good here but the focus looks a bit soft. Maybe just a little bit of USM would sharpen it up nicely. I think it is a good idea, but it needs a little something more. I gave it a 5.

| Very nice contrasts between the dark green and the snow. I found myself trying to turn my head to orient myself within the shot-- maybe a more shallow angle (it seems almost vertical) might be a better approach. |

| Wonderful color and texture and I like the "au natural" aspect here. Some may think the stick on the left side should go but I prefer the "you get what you see" approach. Well done |
