Thanks for all the comments and added favorites. To respond to a few comments and points:

1. I am still trying to find a style. I tend to like these romanticized portions of life where light and nostalgia blend together. I find opposites really work together. Young model/Old Looking Fence. Sharp Subject/Blurred Background. Lambency/Shadow. Design/Coincidence.

2. Many people felt it was neat imaged. I don't have neat image and am still debating on purchasing it. Hmmm, close call still, especially if I can achieve a glossed smooth looks without it.

3. I think the ultimate "trick" to photography and art, is to shape the viewer's eye and mind to "see" what you see. And to make that eye go to exactly where you want it to go is talent in its purest form. That is what leading lines, composition and all these technical nuances are really trying to do. I am not saying this picture achieves that, but that is my focus right now.

Thanks again.

Truly one of the most "natural" appearing photos I've seen thusfar on the site. Extremely well edited - I think the warm glows and lighting are superb. Congrats.

Very good play of light and darks. The slits in the wood create that overall balance with the economy of spice.

Nice view and good colouration. Model looks good ; ) and there seems to be some intrigue created by some off-screen action. The dodge+burning is a bit too loose and obvious in places.

The composition is strong and I like this capture. I wish you had managed to burn the highlight in the wood to the left of the girls right eye, as it is a little distracting..

I love the use of the natural light and the way you've framed the shot. The skin tones are very natural and pleasing.

This certainly is a nice candid shot showing a welcome neighbor checking in. You have done well to retain light on the model's face and front with the strong backlighting. I think that while it is usually a compositional no no to split a picture in half vertically, it works to some extent here. A7.

Good composition, the lighting and angle are just right.

I think this is an excellent composition with nice lighting and detailing work. I'm not so sure about the soft, neat-imaged look. I feel this would be effective left a bit raw, with some grain work apparent in the image. 7, but would have scored higher without the softness. Bump to 9 as I'm adjusting for challenge curve

Love the colors in the wood and the girl. Dark, but not too dark.

nice lighting on the model. A bit to much D&B for my taste but nice shot.

This shot has a velvety feel to it. Your light is excellent and the composition definitely hits the mark. I suspect you may have used Neatimage and if so.....you used it effectively. Good luck!

Slightly overexposed, and the pose looks a little awkward. Nice composition and textures though.

I think that this is the early winner. Excellent composition, crystal clear shot, perfect mild coloring, terrific lighting and a cute model. This one is a 9+, and by far the best in the challenge. Congrats on a great shot.
