Another shot of hands. I decided to go to black and white to make it look more like a struggle between good and evil :)

I included the knees in the framing of this photo because the subject wasn't really the thumb wrestling as much as the relationship between the two people. The knees show their proximity and orientation, ie. enough information for you to know they're close together and facing each other without including the whole bodies. Because of this, I really like the comment that this is a father and son (even though I had a moonstone ring on my thumb), since it shows that I captured a relationship at least for some people.

The black and white was partly because of the reason I gave in the details, partly because it set the hands off better against the background, and partly because my camera can create bands of noise in dark areas, which were mostly removed in the black and white version.

I took quite a few photos and chose this one because it had the most motion blur on the thumbs. It's funny how people either love the blur or hate it :)

Oh, and I really think that bodyhair thing some people have is cultural. Australian men are proud of their hair :)

Interesting shot, I think a little color could've worked well for this.

Don't know about the B & W choice for this, but points for a clever idea!

Lisae? (I'd recognize those forearms anywhere.) It looks to me like the camera decided to focus on the pattern on the couch instead of on your hands, since the sleeve of your shirt and BF's arm hair are oof. The motion blur on the thumbs works, but the still bits ought to be a little sharper. Compositionally, I'd like more focus on the hands rather than including your knee and the whatsit at the LLHC.

creative but a bit blurry

Good use of motion blur in this photo... the sense of motion makes this photo work nicely! good job!

An interesting subject, but I would have liked to have seen a tighter crop. The legs especially aren't required in the picture. Background isn't really the best either

I'm wondering how this photo would've done in color (depending on what colors the background is, if it's very bright, then b&w probably is better. I just feel I would like to have something additional to hold my interest. Of course, that's just my opinion. I do like that you can see the movement on the thumbs.

Nice portrait of a father son activities and games on a day off.

Fun, clever, creative idea.

If you could have, I think that zooming in on or cropping in on the hands would have strengthened it. I'm not sure the the knees and arms add. I like the background though.

I wish the subject wasn't quite so centered in this picture. I like that you captured some movement of the thumbs.

looks like fun!! I wouldn't change anything, well...maybe have 'hairy' put a shirt on too. ;) Good job.

I like your idea, but the background and knee are a bit distracting

Clever, but not a very interesting shot. Blurry.
