Hey I will try anything. I mean you should have seen how dodgy the camera looked anyway. I had so much tape on it, and then i added some tissues to the top lol Its a bad camera, and the flash is the worst I have come across. I can not even take indoor shots of people with it, they always just come out as a white blob.

I will try your suggestion though. Thank you :)

I do want to buy a new camera, but right now I can't afford it. I can not wait to the day I have the money in hand, and am at the store ready to buy something. I only bought this one because it was cheap, and it was never meant to be my primary camera, but now I do prefer digital, so its turned into that.

Have you tried deflecting / bouncing the flash at all? Tape a little piece of white cardboard below the flash and angle it 45 degrees upward, then tape/hold a larger piece above the flash and try to angle it so it hits the subject.

Yeah, it's ghetto, but you'd be surprised. I did this with my first digicam with some success.

Think I might have tried that photo on a white background to give some contrast against the black pencil barrels.

Thanks everyone. I have a really horride camera, so the lighting is always a problem with it. I did use a flash, however even though it has come up extremely bright in this image, I diffused it a lot. I had placed about 10 pieces of a paper tape over it, and it still came up this bright. I remember ringing Kodak once, and they said that this camera has an unsually strong flash.

As suggested, and pretty much common sense too, next time I will try it will my own light source. Generally with my camera I do that anyway.

Its also difficult to get clear shots with it, as I don't have a macro, otherwise I would have loved to have taken a closer and better shot.

But its my first challenge, and I had a go and I think my votes are pretty good, more than I had expected so I am pretty happy over all :)

A bit pedantically obsessive. Wonderful.

i wish the flash would have been a little more even or maybe a natural light would have been better.

Looks like you used flash. If you did, it would've been better to go with available lighting. If you did use other means of lighting, you need to diffuse it more.

I wish the flash on your camera wasn't so bright or you had other lighting equipment to take a better picture with. (or a better cam) - I like the idea, I'm glad you submitted. Keep up good work. :) 8

Excellent use of the pencils. I also like the way the light isn't central, give the circle more charactor.

Nice setup, but the light looks to be a bit bright in some areas esp. on the pencil wood and lighter colors.

A different light source other than the built-in flash would've added much better lighting. Or perhaps the flash reflection could've been more centered.

Nice set up, lots of colors represented here. I like the pattern, the only thing that bothers me a little is the blue splotch up in the top left hand corner.

This is nicely centered, I wish you could see the tips of the pencils more, It also seems a little overexposed in the middle. I don't have any suggestions on how to fix it though...sorry. I like this pic.

I like your idea here very nice, only thing is you have a case of distracting glare going in the middle, if you ever find out how to kill the glare let me know cause I am fighting the same issue here.

I can imagine how difficult it is to line them all up and hope they don't roll during shooting. :) Did you try to zoom on the middle instead? Might be a little stronger.
