love the composition, light rays coming through the clouds. Tonal range a little to dark I think

Really cool. Love the conversion done. So much more powerful in B&W. Love the tonal shifts - you made excellent use of the range. The subject is almost too far out of the image, but not quite. Do like him/her at the edge though. And going out of the frame works for me. 9 for your excellent use of black. Good luck in the challenge!

Nice capture, I think the compositon could be better, the horizon splits the photo right down the center. I think off setting it a little would do wonders for this photo. Overall I think its a great photo.... I still gave it a ....9

I love this!!!! It's a beautiful image...I love the symbology of the child nearly leaving the picture and heading into adulthood...

Stones in the reflective surface take away from the dreamy quality of this shot. The child is too indistinct and too close to the edge, moving too soon off the screen. Still a lovely dreamlike seascape.

THis is stunning! I love the reflection in the wet sand - and perfect with the small silhouette - 9

I like this! This is a bit dark and brooding, not what one would expect to see for a 'childhood memories' shot. This study in contrast is precisely why I like it. Bumping up.

Great depth of field and great sharpness. Almost missed the youngster at the edge of the frame.

The child is almost cropped out of the photo. I almost missed him/her on first glance. Gorgeous beach shot, though.

Overall, I like this - was the splitting of thirds intentional? The only thing that seems a bit distracting is the bright spot in the sky. Knowing we can not control Mother Nature, You could have waited for a more even sky....

This is my second go-around =) - great job! I love the grey scale and what a great sky! It's a very neat contrast to the texture of the sand.

Excellent idea for the challenge. I love the reflection of the sky in the wet sand. My only suggestion for improvement would be to have a little more space in front of the child and perhaps a little higher angle so you could see the footprints better. But, hey, what do I know? I've never ribboned!! :) -9-

The reflection in the sand is look really good. You can even see the sun rays coming through the clouds, would have incredibly cool to enhance them a bit. Really cool shot. Good luck.
