Wow! If you could shrink that and put it in someones eye (as if it were there eye), that would be very cool. At first glance of the thumbnail view, that is what I thought it was.

Well Done, Christina. You really do look happy here, and have used that fisheye most effectively.

Congrats on the Blue.
I see that the fisheye has been efectively used in a number of recent challenges. You seem to have mastered using it... I'm jellous with my point and shoot.

Another terrific image. Well done.

I vividly recall your other fisheye image of the BCLA. I must get me one of these lenses, the results are fun.

Do you have the Nikon Capture 4 software? It would be interesting to see what this or the other image looked like after processing through the rectilinear correction process found within this Nikon program.

Thanks again for all your great feedback and votes. Just posting the lens again (I posted earlier but it's a little further down). I use the Nikkor 10.5mm 2.8 fisheye and I have a Nikon D70. I've had some great results with it so far and it's always in my camera bag. I highly recommend it to anyone who's interested in a fisheye.
05/13/2005 02:25:38 PM
That does it.. I'm getting a fisheye.. which one is this? 8mm? 10mm? 12?

I am not surprised this came in numero uno. It's such an inspired shot. I feel the same way about your World Revolves Around Us shot. Damn that beautiful fisheye!

Many conga rats for you!

I voted this one a 10. Congratulation's. My first though was this should be on a allergy product box or ad! Very well done and the fish-eye lens worked well with this shot.

Thanks so much for your comments and votes. This ribbon is very exciting for me. I was using a Nikon D70 with a Nikkor 10.5mm fisheye lens. I set it up on a tripod and turned on the timer and then layed down in the flowers, less than a foot from the camera and this is the effect I got. It was a beautiful day and I thought about this challenge as soon as I saw the meadow.
05/13/2005 12:08:11 AM
Congrat's Christina! Superb shot. It's not often I can pick the winning shot! (Not that the shots I picked aren't good, but the other voters usually don't agree with my taste!)

Cool use of fisheye lense and moving us inside the model's mind, into this dreamscape. Maybe they should add a new category to galleries!

Entirely sweet! This is an exceptionally good example of a use for a super-wide angle lens. The colors, the feel of the pic, the wonderful expression and pose of the dreamer--all work to convey the statement. Well done! Highest marks.

I'm so very in love with this shot :) It really is beautifully done. Congrats!

Maybe I could give one suggestion, but it's so minor. It'd be cool if there were more sky. But hey, if there WERE more sky I might say nix the sky ahaha. I'm really reaching for any kind of criticism. It's all love. Great shot :)

I like the concept, title and the fish-eye perspective but I think this idea might have done more for me without the model. I don't know what was on top but you might have wanted to leave the trees uncut. Very nice clean shot otherwise. Good Luck!

Absolutely beautiful. Very evocative. My only complaint is that it looks like the white balance is a little off. It feels just a tiny bit "muddy" colour-wise. Still a solid 9 though.
