very nice take, imho. the expression is clear, the focus on the eyes through the goggles is great, the dof is right on. perhaps a bit much light on the face? I do like the blue cast as well. 8 at first pass, going to 9.

I guess even superheroes have a bad day occasionally. Was there a gel over the lens / light, or was the color shift done in Photoshop?

I see no sadness but simply immense and overwhelming levels of humour!

I like the background, the blue neon glow givers the image "spaced" look along with the kids expression, nicely placed in the frame.

Another "sadness" picture that isn't all that "sad". This is a really cool picture, but I really don't see "sad"...silly...goofy...pouty...yes. The blue hue and what look like swimming goggles make this seem very aquatic to me. Sadness and sorrow are really hard emotions to "fake" ...they seem to be emotions that must rise from the pits of our souls to appear genuine.

This really did make me laugh out loud, great model and expression. The duotone works well. One of my favourites this challenge.

what an odd picture - I love it. His choice of costume makes it special. blue makes it underwater sort of.

Yes that's definately different. Good crisp image and fits the challenge. But I just dont know what to think about the image. I would almost have to classify this as an abstract. The blue works perfectly but the the gogglels and bizzrare facial expression are a bit bizzare. I think I like it.. nice job this is a shot that make the veiwer think nice job,

it doesn't quite work for me, sorry; goggles and blue toning don't add anything to it

He looks more like he's making faces than sad. I like the blue tone though.

Hmmmm, first impression....don't care for the blue, and the light is a little harsh on his face. the mouth shows sadness, but I just don't see it in the eyes. Nice use of goggles though.
