Beautiful DOF! Framing the flower with the OOF foreground is a good idea. ~7

Nicely composed. I'm a tad bit put off by the darkness of the background on the left. It makes the shot seem just a bit off balanced. Also for a shot like this I think you need to be much sharper on the flower (front to back) or go for a soft focus effect. This looks stuck in between.

wonderful contrast between the blue and green +brown around it. Nice composition as well... on the left it looks the leaves look a bit smudged for some reason especially since there are some that are in focus which accentuate the differences between them, i think i would suggest just blurring everything on the left. good image though. 8

Nice colours

While I like the choice of your subject and colors, I find the blades surrounding it distracting.. a different angle might have helped..6.

A tad too dark....

Nice DOF here, gives the feeling that it was found as a surprise and gives a feeling of the environment it is in. Some people might tell you that the photo is too dark. I like dark and think you did an excellent job with the exposure and processing.

the image is very very dark though I feel you meant for it that way.

Okay, it may be too dark.

Lacks the simplicity and elegance I associate with minimalism, but nice all the same

I have been scoring most of the flower images rather low in this challenge, but yours jumps out as something special. The bright colors of the flower stand out against the dark background. Your use of DOF also enhances this image, and makes it one of noteworthiness. <7>

I love these! Just planted some myself. Nice technique of lighting.
