I like the colours and the feeling of the photo. But the composition is a little bit too courageous, it makes the picture unbalanced. More space to the left.

Beautifukl amount of dof, really making the bug stand out. Light could be a little better, but sharpnes and composition are great.

This is a good image. Sepia was a very appropriate choice and the lighting is interesting. Good job.

Toning works really well to add warmth. Love the composition - great decision not to follow rule of thirds but to position the branch and beetle at the far left of the frame.

Meets challenge description. 10
Meets definition of minimalism. 10 Ordinarlly I would think this is a minimalist photograph, because I believe that would have to require a closer look of the beetle. BUUUUUUT.....The way you have included the beetles envornment in the image I truly believe the image is taking about the beetle.
Technical. 5 I think you need a little more focus on the beetle, but the problem may be some of the artifacts that I see in the image. (I like images that look more like tradional photographs without the digital super focus and hyper activity to the surface so I am not taking about going heavy on the focus just minor adjustment and leaving the depth of field the way it is.)
Artistic. 10 I like the surface tone of the image. I also like that the image that seems to have the artist signature on it. (not literally, but style wise) Art is not about perfect products but rather simple comunication.
Average score..............................................................................8

Nice depth of field choice with the bug. It came out nice and clear and jumps out of the picture.

Very interesting, awesome! except the flash I assume didn't fill the entire stick, maybe this was a desired effect, but I think it really cuts the bug off from the rest of the image. Beautiful otherwise. 9

Really like this one. Only criticism would be that the plant stem is lit at the top and not the bottom - something in the way of your flash, or just a natural shadow? 7/10

Very nice indeed. I like this a lot. I wonder if you tried one a little lower to hide the dustracting poles on the far bank
