Interesting response you got from many as regards her age and nudity. I am also one who finds nudity among children often inappropriate, but I don't find that to be the case here. For me this is in no way sexual. It conveys innocence for me. For me, nudity in and of itself is not ugly and wrong; the morality of it for me boils down to intent (or perceived intent). I have been offended by nudish shots of children before (in fact, there's one in the current lighting challenge), but I hope we're not so sensitized that we throw the good out with the bad.

Sally Mann caused quite a stir about 20 years ago for her controversial images of her own children, often unclothed. YOu can check out some of her work here:

edited to add: the neat image or other noise reduction technique is taken to far for me in this shot.

Seems by a comment or two as well as about half the entries, a lot of people thought you had to have rock, paper, AND scissors in this challenge. Not so!

This shot finished well, but I honestly think it should've done better.

what the hell does this have to do with the contest? (posted previously)

what i should have said is that it is bordering on pedophilia.

Very very pretty....the muted tone (just before sunset?) just kicks it up a notch. Really like the feathers you chose as well. 9

Outstanding shot, I'd imagine it'd be nice as a black & white, I anticipate lots of requests for prints!

i'd caution posting such publicly or they might find their way onto child porn sites...

I normally don't care for obviously "posed" shots, but this one is certainly an exception to that rule. Beautiful imagery and perfect lighting. It really cries out "innocence" against a cold, hard environment. Well done.

This needs a soft focus and warmer lighting to work, but I congradulate you on doing something unique.

would be a little better if her hair covered the wings strap. Not a huge fan of pictures of kids in cloths (or lack there of) like this but will not mark down my personal beliefs. Good luck

This is a really cute image. I love the reflection off of the water. I also love the way you carefully placed everything in the image. Nice work.

You know, as often as I've visited many lakes, I've never stumbled upon a scene like this! Very cute shot :)
