 Thanks to my sweet models, Julien and Jeff!

It's a challenge taking photos with a highly energetic 5-year old. But with the aid of some treats, I was able to keep my son in the picture long enough to take several shots.

I used a black kimono as the backdrop, and a tungsten studio light coming from about 45 degrees back right in order to create shadowing on the toes. I also had a silver reflector towards the front left to bring some light into the shadows.

In Photoshop, I used Channel Mixer to change the photo to B&W, then did Levels. Then, I blurred a callous (how the heck do you spell that?) from Jeff's foot. Then, selecting with Lasso and pasting in order to get rid of a couple distracting lines from the black material in the background. After that, a bit of cloning on some irritating dots (lint, maybe?). Finally, Unsharp Mask and....ta-daah!

As a former collage photography instructor if I had given a assignment to photograph people and a student turned this in I would say not only did they meet the assignment but went out side the box. That is what all good artists should do. Well done (10)
