As far as overall tonalities go, this is an exceptionally lovely image. Pgatt, you're getting VERY good at B/W conversions. Since you've asked me to comment upon the image, I have these observations:

1. The composition is pretty static, and that hurts it. It divides more or less equally into an upper and lower zone, with the two pretty much in stasis. If, for example, the pier were longer and thrusting further into the "upper zone" that would be more dynamic. Additionally, the foreground piling is seriously orphaned and OOF to boot, which isn't good.

2. The lower left of the image is blocked to black; it seems to have been burned in (I can't be sure) and it really wants a trace more detail brought up, especially where the piling is reflecting and also in the "construction details" between the pilings.

I can imagine that if this were extended on the left to make a "normally proportioned" rectangle, that alone would strengthen the composition quite a bit. I'd like to see the original on this.

Good work!

Amazing tonalities in this image. I have definitely got to get me one of these R72 filters :) This image evokes of tranquility and peacefulness and the BW makes the shot sing :)

This is great. I love how the deck leads your eyes into the photograph and how whispy the clouds look.

I like the tonal range captured here. The high-key foliage on the far right bank is striking. Is that an effect caused by using nightshot mode, or one of the filters?

That's an interesting approach, using nightshot mode. I've never tried it...think I'm going to investigate. Thanks for opening my eyes to this possibility! Smile and keep having fun... ;^)

a bit too dark in the right foreground................

Excellent tonality and contrast. But I think the picture would have been more interesting with some other focal point other than an empty dock.

I love infrared so this automatically gets a 10. Perfect sky you got. What camera is this with?

this shot would have gotten a higher score from me if it had been in color, it looks to be technically well done, good composure, good depth of field

Sorry, this is a very well composed shot....why you would ever convert it to B&W eludes me. Black and white are great for portraits, man made things, etc. But for nature the colors and hues which exist should be represented. This photo is but a sketch, it fails to convery the fullness....the blue of the ocean, sky, etc.
