Greetings from the Critique Club :)

Hi Doug...

I like the color and concept on this photo quite a bit. It's compositionally strong and I do see the callenge interpretation here quite easily.

Simply put, I believe the focus should have been on the window itself. it appears that your camera focused on the outside environment rather than the window, and that lack of front focus seems to fail this photograph. I believe that most of the comments you received on this issue are on target. I'm not sure if your camera will do manual focus, but that can be helpful in a situation like this sometimes :)

Keep up the great work :)

Great radial symmetry. DOF and focus are more on what is behind the window and not the window itself.

I can BARELY see the sunset up there. The pic is out of focus, too. Better to have the stained glass in focus than the sunset, I think.

I liked your idea. The main problem i see here is that the subject is out of focus.

This could be a very good image, but it's lacking a strong focus point. You had a very good idea though.

Nice idea that doesnt quite work for me with the focus like that. 5 - floyd

Interesting that you chose to make the background sunset focused and left the stained glass out of focus. I have struggled with this same dilema when you must choose one or the other. There is no absolute rule, but for me I decide what is the main subject and make sure it is in focus.

While the focus on the trees in the background is probably intentional, I think I'd prefer the focus on the glass - its the focus of the symmetry. - 5 - Mav

i really like the idea that you used for this image. Good Work

While I like the focus on the trees outside, my eyes are drawn to the window by the framing lines of the window itself. I wonder if a deeper DOF could have been used to focus the window at least a little bit more?

focus is a bit soft, nice colors and right on for the challenge.

It would have looked better if everything was in focus.
