Thanks for entering this image for your People II challenge.
Great compositon and good job with the lighting and focus.

Even though the photo was staged, it sends the message that are people like this through out the world. I believe its the way the eyes look, that give this image its appeal. The downward sad and defeated stare, the vacant and hopeless message it sends. For some reasons to make a total package, I would have liked to see the hands. They seem to be hidden, and tucked away. I also like the use of the wall as a background. It gives the image some balance and stability.

Great job, and good luck in your next DPChallenge.

I had to come back and see the story behind this image. Great idea and excellent work. I expected this to rank much higher in the challenge. It is a strong, emotive image.

sad that there is such a thing as war and those that are effected by it. It is reality and this shot shows it very well. Well done good capture.

Yip I know it is posed but it breaks my heart, there are so many of these young people out there dying for what. Bumping up on basis of an excellent photograph. Excellent use of b&w.

This is an excellent photograph - the sharpness, textures, and tones are all absolutely amazing. Lighting is perfect, and the composition is beautiful - this is one of the most emotive shots in the challenge. Awesome work.

Powerful Shot.... Deserves a ribbon. My only quirk is that the picture seems to have a lot of gray to it. If this was set up a grungy white shirt might have helped.... If this wasn't set up, you did the image justice. 10

I am wondering if this is frumoaznical's shot...very distintive style, such drama and range. Beautiful, moving, and bold. Excellent shot.

Not quite a portrait but side from that minor detail, this is an excellent composition and with superb, clean processing. A solid 7.
