Challenge: Abandoned Buildings (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Nikon D70
Location: Fort Ord- Monterey Bay, California
Date: Apr 11, 2005
Aperture: F3.3
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/320th
Galleries: Abstract, Snapshot
Date Uploaded: Apr 12, 2005

This image was taken on Fort Ord in Monterey Bay, California.

I know a couple other people from my school that will probably be entering this challenge because we live around SO MANY abandoned buildings! When I saw this challenge pop up here, I litarally laughed out loud.

I'm really please with the lighting during this shot. It was an overcast day but the sun peaked out for a moment before setting and thats when I captured this.

Post: Curves, bright/contrast, hue/sat, crop.

Stunning light and colors. I don't think it's over the top at all. That's your style, and you wear it well.

Looks a bit over processed, but that aside, I really like this composition. The one door being open and the broken- down steps add much to the appeal. AlsoI love that you can see the grain in the boarded-up windows...nice detail.

Some of the colors here look a bit oversaturated, but all in all, I like this shot.

Colors seem too strong - even the tree looks painted. (although, the colors of the trunk are kind of cool!)

the color is way to harsh and removes details that are critical to the image

I don't care for the lighting, and it seems slightly out of focus. But what totally is amazing is it almost looks like there is a skeleton in the grains of the tree trunk. That alone is fantastic.

the building is cool, but the tree has a 'figure" in it that looks scarier
