 I got these two fish out of my freezer, thawed them out, and placed them on a black backdrop (that I later had to wash). I put my shoe under the backdrop so the fish could rest on it and would appear to be swimming toward the camera (my shoe still smells of fish). I also used only a blue light to give them some color.

It was difficult going; their mouths would not stay open!

In Photoshop, I then fiddled with Curves to minimize the reflection from the black backdrop, pushed the blues and greens by only about 10%, and then added 10% more contrast.

I suppose some might think it digital art rather than a photograph, but as long as we're pushing levels and colors, I figure we're all doing digital art. Thanks for listening!

Hi David, its three years since you submitted this and think its about time you reshot it (using skills learnt this past 3 years and someone elses shoes maybe lol). No need for me to comment on this as 1, its all been said and 2, its been a long time.

Awesome port btw and all those ribbons! you should frame this lol.

hahahaha you are to funny. If only they knew what you went through to get the shot, you would have got a better score. lol Can't wait to see more of your work.

psycho fish. Strange effect. Looks like pop art more than a photograph, which is cool in its own right. But for this, I don't really like it. Sorry. 5
