This unusual little bug was on my bed. I decided to see just how close I could get to him. I used a flash to create that 'spotlight' effect.

One of three favourites this week. Fantastic lighting. Good dof and focus. Composition perhaps a little centered. Perfect in this blue tone. I like it very much. Well done!

Personally, I would have prefered a little bit of a tighter crop on this to make it really look like a macro. I love the lighting-- it compliments the insect.

Pretty good DOF on this guy. A little greater F and I think you'd have scored a little better. I would've suggested a slightly tighter crop too. Bring him a little closer to us.

bummer by the time the votes are in this creature's lifespan will probably be over.

Good use of a single color. Textures really set the subject apart and your selective use of focus is well done.

You could crop the top of your photo, that does nothing for your photo. I like the bug on the blue cloth.

Great capture, wonderful lighting... Woulda cropped some of the crap off the top though! At the minimum, enough to get rid of the different looking color blue @ top right..

Really nice job of capturing this young fellow! I'm enjoying the colours on his back. I'd be interested in knowing what you used for lighting purposes. Was it white or . . . It's good lighting by the way, good focus, nice and crisp and clear.
MY only dislikes are the dark corner, bottom right and the top left, thought perhaps you could have continued your lighting all the way up in those areas or continuity.

This is a neat shot and I like the blue tint... the centered composition doesn't seem to work as well for me though... - setzler

Nice colours. Crop out the dark patches near the top.
