Shot with a sheet of blue posterboard and a background from a tabletop basketball game, this Dirk Nowitski rubber duckie sits behind five green grapes. Dirk and the grapes are spritzed with water to create the appearance of sweat beads. The shot was taken at f/6.3 using a halogen shop light, ambient room light, and an on-camera Sunpak 433AF flash unit.

A clever set up! But, I'm afraid, I was one of your 109 (impressive!) no. 5's. The two things that killed it for me were the blown highlights and the out of focus grapes--probably that and the fact that there were so many clever duckies...

I know you're a great people photographer! Studio is just another direction to stretch.

(and take heart, you could have a duckie sitting firmly in your top-scoring place...like me)
