The colors hint at wrong exposure settings. A faster shutter speed could've reduced the blur.

Great action capture!

Nice timing, especially with the time delay on most digicams!!

Something about the colors in this make it look like an older print photograph -- like they've faded and altered with a little time -- I couldn't explain why it looks that way to me, but I like it. I can tell it's motion blur up by the feet, but other part's of the vaulter simply look out of focus -- I think going either direction with shutter speed would contribute to the picture overall. A slower one to create more blur, and a faster one to create less.

somewhat over sharpened, but i like it, it gives it a painting type feel.

A fair catch, but a faster shutter would have worked better here, IMO. A little motion blur is sometimes a good thing, but the only things sharp here are the lower end of the pole and the crossbar. Tell her to watch the grip on that left hand. Did you prefocus on the crossbar?

would have been cool if the person had been at all in focus

A little faster exposure would have stopped those feet. Pretty good shot, high degree of difficulty! Photo 8 Creativity 8 Upsidedown 9 total 8

Nice idea and perfect timing but the focusing just isn't sharp enough to make it work.

It's a little blurry. You need a faster shutter speed for action shots.

Good subject matter.
But due to lack of focus, the pony tail almost looks like a shrunken head at first glace. It is a bit bright, too.
Caught a great moment in time.

This is a good upside down image that was not altered.

Yep thats upside down, the colors are a bit off though. The slightly blurred motion is a little iffy with me, I would of either liked to see more blur or a completely sharp image. Both would of worked well with this shot. After all that is said this is still not a bad shot.

Excellent choice of interpretations! i like this shot!

would have been better with a faster shutter speed.
05/13/2002 11:11:00 AM
A lovely idea for the subject, but unfortunately the focus is not sharp.

Great action!

wonderful take on the "upsdie down" challenge. I understand that with the motion involved it would have been difficult to get better focus, but that is my only critisism.
05/13/2002 03:29:00 PM
Wish I could do that. Cool and great that you could get the shot at this time.
Nice job.

Very cool!
