Challenge: In the Beginning... (Basic Editing III)

Not being a very religious person, my first thought for "In the Beginning..." was the start of something creative. I originally wanted to use Moby Dick, but that was written before the advent of the typewriter.

In any case, I chose Fahrenheit 451, because I like the book and because the first line was short enough to make a good impact.

My futzing in Photoshop:
- Crop and rotate slightly
- Curves
- Shadows/Highlights (to remove a little shadow)
- Sharpening

Special thanks to my good friend Frank, who lent me his parents Royal typewriter. Wish I could have gotten more of it in the shot...

Many good things with a blank piece of paper and a single line. Bumping up.

Wow, I didn't know these machines still existed in working order! Very crisp shot. Lighting is good and overall composition is great. Well done!

Great idea! A tighter, well-focused macro at a lower angle would have made this more powerful.

Nice simplicity found here. Slight artefacting in the paper in the top half perhaps? Otherwise, striking and on-topic image!

I had a similar idea, but not with that book. I gave up, though, because by typewriter isn't as photogenic. I wish my efforts had turned out more like yours. By the way, that's an excellent book.
