Great Grey Owl taken in the woods in early morning when they are more active. I don`t think this will score that well considering this is a free study but most people have know idea of how hard it is to obtain a shot like this!!First you have to locate an Owl and this is a hundred times more difficult than a static shot. Cropped, saturated yellow eyes, sharpened, dodged, auto contrast and lighting, curves, resized!I did not want to fix the eye pupil as I want this natural as can be!

Great shot, I do know what it takes to get a shotl like this, and while the winning 'zoo' shots are good shots in the wild sure take a hell of a lot more to get. Esp. in flight too! Lovely work.

This is just a great photo, it's a very sharp photo with good focus on the face and nice motion on the wings. Hope you didn't spend all day waiting for this one but it's was worth it. Good Luck.

Beautiful bird, very well caught. Looks like you're out in the open too, so kudos for not taking the easy route by visiting a zoo, etc. You've focused it well and just a faster shutter would have improved this.

Wow, you caught him in mid air! I'm impressed. The lighting is very nice. You're fortunate to have caught the little dude up in the daylight. Like the shallow depth of field.
